John - Juarez II on Mayweather-Marquez Undercard?

Sources close to the situation informed 15rounds.com that it is very likely that the rematch between Chris John & Rocky Juarez for the WBA Featherweight title has been rescheduled and take place on 19 September in Las Vegas as part of the Floyd Mayweather-V-Juan Manuel Marquez card at the MGM Grand Hotel Casino.

The first fight took place back on 28 February in Juarez 28-4-1(20) home town of Houston, TX. It also marked John’s 42-0-2(22) America debut. While many believed that John had done enough to take the decision the three most important people namely the judges disagreed and all scored it 114-114.

The rematch was first set for 27 June in Los Angeles which has a large Indonesian population and many were expected to attend and cheer on there countryman. However when John was injured the fight was called off.

In an interesting clash of styles it pits John’s brilliant boxing, speed & stealth up against Juarez brute strength, power & guile. It will be John’s 11th defence while Juarez will be making an unprecedented 6th attempt to win a world title having come up short against some of the best in Boxing.

If the first fight is anything to go by the second should be a barnstormer between two of the very best at Featherweight today.
