There may not be an official announcement as yet but it looks like Vitali Klitschko will defend his WBC heavyweight crown against David Haye in Frankfurt, Germany on September 12.
The bad news for Haye is the 6ft 8inch Ukrainian puncher has vowed to punish the motor mouth Londoner for the insults and now infamous T-shirt stunt which depicted Haye holding up the severed heads of Vitali and his younger brother Wladimir.
Haye was to have challenged Wladimir Klitschko for the Ukrainian’s IBF title last month but Haye pulled out of the eagerly awaited clash with a back injury just two weeks before the fight . A hugely disappointed Wladimir took his frustration out on late replacement Ruslan Chagaev, leaving Haye to chase a clash with older brother Vitali.
So now it is up to Vitali to uphold family honour and dish out the punishment to their mutual tormenter
"He’s insulted the Klitschko family and now he finally gets his punishment," said Vitali. "I’ll shut his big mouth."
"Haye has been negotiating the ring size. To me they’re all the same - four corners and Haye can’t hide in any ring. I’ll hunt him down and punish him badly for his heads number," added the 38 year-old WBC champ
Haye in return said: "Vitali has beaten only old, defenceless types who just turn up for a pay day."
Assuming there is no last minute hitches, contracts are due to be signed today.
