Mayweather Dismisses Pacquiao Pay Demands

Floyd Mayweather Jr may have recovered from injury to face Juan Manuel Marquez on September 19 but any possibility of a ‘Super Fight’ against pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao could be in jeopardy due to excessive financial demands, according to Mayweather jnr. Mayweather was originally scheduled to face Marquez this weekend but a rib injury to Mayweather forced a cancelation. The Las Vegas based American is now fully fit to face the classy Mexican but feels Team Pacquiao’s insistence on an equal share of any financial split will jeopardise a possible match-up. "He wants a 50-50 split. That’s never going to happen. If Bob Arum wasn’t trying to be so greedy, that fight would happen," Mayweather said. "It still is a business even if it is a sport." Regarding the injury Mayweather Jnr added: "It didn’t come from sparring," Mayweather said. "Freak accidents happen in training. It was just a freak accident. "I tried to work through it but then it happened again and I’m like, ’I can’t be a superhero. Take a little time off.’ I healed. Now I’m ready to rock and roll. I can’t wait to get back out there." Mayweather Jnr, 39-0-(25), has not fought since knocking out Britain’s Ricky Hatton in the 10th round on December 8, 2007. ....source
